At Studio Verthandi, existing garments, chosen for the beauty and quality of their natural fabrics, quietly shape every new design. The result is pieces that feel both familiar and entirely new, sculpted with an enduring sense of harmony, ease and understated elegance.
The brand was founded in Zürich in 2025 by Linda Verthandi Racz, a graduate of l’École de la Chambre Syndicale de Paris, whose experience at fashion houses including Hermès, Véronique Leroy, Sonia Rykiel and Vêtements helped shape a creative practice rooted in reimagining what already exists.
At the heart of this process is a fascination with constraint – responding to a given proportion, a seam, a limited amount of fabric or an unexpected detail. Rather than restricting the design, these limitations invite new solutions — shapes, combinations and details that might never emerge from a fresh toile. It is this exchange between intention and possibility that makes each piece inherently individual.
Sustainability is integral to the way Studio Verthandi designs and produces. By working primarily with existing garments, deadstock and carefully sourced natural textiles, the studio gives exceptional materials already in circulation a new purpose while reducing the reliance on newly produced textiles. Pieces are made individually or in very small quantities, allowing each material to be used thoughtfully and keeping waste to a minimum.
Equally important is longevity. Rather than following the pace of seasonal trends, the focus is on distinctive yet enduring pieces, made from natural materials and carefully constructed to be worn, cared for and kept for years.
